I.  目的

最全菠菜网院(“学院”)建立了这个兼职教师晋升程序(“程序”),通过晋升到更高的兼职教师级别的过程,对兼职教师对学术项目的持续贡献进行认可.

II.  适用范围及适用性

A. This Procedure applies to all applications for promotion of Part-Time Faculty submitted after 2023年8月16日.

B. 本程序适用于兼职教员, 定义如下, who have a sustained record of teaching and are eligible for promotion to the next rank, 讲师二或讲师三.

C. 本程序不适用于全日制教师.

D. 特别定期合约教员, 定义如下, may apply for promotion as a Part-Time Faculty Member as set forth below, but such promotion will only be effective upon the 特别定期合约教员 returning to Part-Time Faculty status.

E. 无学分的教师, 定义如下, are generally excluded from this Procedure; however, if a 无学分的教师 member has taught at the Collegiate Level, 定义如下, 非学分教师可以申请晋升为兼职教师,其授课时数与学院水平的教学时数有关.   

3.  定义

A. All capitalized terms in this Procedure have the following meanings: 

1. Academic Semester means the Fall and Spring semesters.

2. 应用程序包 means the 文档s set forth in the 应用程序包 Section below.

3. AVPL means the Associate Vice President for Learning and Academic Affairs.

4. Business Day is any day which is not a Saturday or Sunday or day that the College is closed, 比如假期, 春假, 寒假, or other day that the College announces that it is closed.

5. 认证的形式 means the application form titled Part-Time Faculty Certification of Minimum Eligibility for 促销活动.

6. Noncredit 课程 are classes that are not offered at the Collegiate Level.

7. 无学分的教师 are faculty who are employed on a course-by-course basis to teach Noncredit 课程 as demand requires, 根据书面作业的安排.

8. Collegiate Level means courses for which students receive academic credit and Developmental 课程, 但不包括非学分课程.

10. 发展课程是零学分, 大学预科课程或相当于学分的英语语言学习课程,旨在帮助学生提高技能,为大学水平的课程做准备.

11. Duties of Part-Time Faculty are described in Section VI of the College Manual and include: reporting duties, 教师缺课管理, 期末考试的管理, 学生会议的可用性, 以及课堂礼仪的管理.

12. 兼职教师或兼职教师是指根据需要在大学水平上按课程授课的人员, with the arrangement to be made by Written assignment.   

13. 专业纪录表格 means a 文档 used to record and continuously update the Part-Time Faculty Member’s activities, 成就, 成就, 并为持续改进而努力.

14. Rank means the title of Part-time Faculty as set forth in Section VI of the College Manual.

IV. 最低学历检讨

A. 当兼职教员达到《最全菠菜网》第VI节(“最低资历”)所载的职级的所有最低初始资历时,可申请晋升至下一级职级。.

B. Part-Time Faculty serving as 特别定期合约教员 or 无学分的教师 may apply for promotion in their capacity as Part-Time Faculty if the Part-Time Faculty Member meets all of the Minimum Qualifications for a Part-time Faculty Rank; however, 晋升只有在特别合同到期和/或以书面形式发出兼职教师任务后才有效.

C. For purposes of determining whether a Part-Time Faculty Member has met the Minimum Qualifications for Rank, 由兼职教员在学院级别授课的课程,仅按学院手册第六节规定的授课时数计算.

D. 如果兼职教师希望在9月1日之前申请秋季学期的晋升,并在2月1日之前申请春季学期的晋升,则兼职教师应向其主管提供书面通知.

E. 主管和院长应与兼职教员一起收集必要的信息,以完成证明表格. 院长将在9月8日(秋季学期申请)和2月8日(春季学期申请)之前将填好的表格发送给AVPL进行审查.

F. 秋季学期申请不迟于9月15日,春季学期申请不迟于2月15日,AVPL将审查兼职教员记录中的认证表、成绩单和其他文件,以验证兼职教员是否符合最低资格要求, 如果是这样的话, will approve and sign the 认证的形式 and send a copy to the Part-Time Faculty Member, 院长, 和监事.

G. If the AVPL determines that the Part-Time Faculty Member has not met the Minimum Qualifications, AVPL将通知兼职教员, 主管, 院长以书面形式告知兼职教员因未能在截止日期前达到最低资格要求而没有晋升资格.

H. The AVPL will maintain a copy of the 认证的形式 and any notice sent to the Part-Time Faculty Member.

V. 课堂观察

主管负责对寻求晋升的兼职教员进行课堂观察,并填写院系课堂观察表(如果没有院系表格), 课堂观摩表.

VI. 应用程序包

A. By October 15 for a Fall semester application and March 15 for a Spring semester application, the Part-Time Faculty Member must submit the following information to 主管:

1. Completed 专业纪录表格; and

2. 课程材料.

B. 申请晋升的兼职教师必须在学院学习管理系统的电子档案中提交上述信息.

C. The Part-Time Faculty Member will notify 主管 in writing that the above materials are ready for review. 

D. By November 15 for a Fall semester application or April 30 for a Spring semester application, 主管 will provide an 应用程序包 to 院长 in writing, 其中包括以下内容:

1. A link to the Part-Time Faculty Member’s ePortfolio;

2. 一份院系课堂观察表, or, 如果没有部门表格, 课堂观摩表 completed by 主管;

3. 一份完整的摘要叙述表格, 其中包括由监督员对以下内容进行评估(详见手册第六节的详细定义和描述):

a. The Part-Time Faculty Member’s teaching effectiveness;

b. The Part-Time Faculty Member’s student opinion forms as follows:

i. 如果兼职教员在学院的教学时间少于十五(15)小时,并且正在申请晋升为二级讲师, all student opinion forms for courses taught at the College must be submitted;

ii. 如果兼职教员在学院教授了至少十五(15)个教学负荷时数,并且正在申请晋升为二级讲师, the student opinion forms for the most recent fifteen (15) faculty load hours taught at the College; or

3. If the Part-Time Faculty Member is applying for promotion to Lecturer 3, the student opinion forms for the most recent twenty-four (24) faculty load hours taught at the College.                                           

c. 兼职教师课程教材;

d. The Part-Time Faculty Member’s 专业纪录表格; and

e. 兼职教员履职情况.

4. 一封推荐信,总结导师推荐或不推荐兼职教员晋升的原因.

E. By December 15 for a Fall semester application or May 30 for a Spring semester application, 院长将审查申请包,并向AVPL提出正式建议,总结院长建议或不建议将兼职教员晋升到AVPL的原因.

7. 促销活动

A. By January 5 for a Fall semester application or June 15 for a Spring semester application, the AVPL 或被任命者 will review the Formal Recommendation and decide whether to approve the promotion. 

1. If the AVPL approves the promotion of the Part-Time Faculty Member, AVPL将通知兼职教员, 院长, 并以书面形式告知监事, and the promotion will become effective at the beginning of the next Academic Semester. 

2. If the AVPL does not approve the promotion of the Part-Time Faculty Member, AVPL将通知兼职教员, 院长, 并以书面形式告知监事 and provide the reasons for not approving the promotion.

B. 如果晋升被批准, the AVPL 或被任命者 will update the Part-Time Faculty Member’s Rank in the system of record to reflect the promotion.

C. 批准晋升兼职教员, the College makes no representations or guarantees of future course 作业.

8. 最后期限 

If any deadline stated in this Procedure falls on a weekend or a day on which the College is closed, the deadline will be extended to the next Business Day. 

IX. 记录

A. 证明表格和批准或不批准通知将成为兼职教员评估材料档案的一部分,并且是保密的.

B. The Part-Time Faculty Member will be provided access to their personnel file upon request.

C. The 应用程序包 will be maintained in accordance with the College’s 文档 retention schedule, 如大学手册第六节所述.
